Hunter x Hunter is a 1999 anime series that follows the story of Gon Freecss, a young boy who sets out on a quest to find his father, who is a world-renowned hunter. The series was adapted from the Hunter x Hunter manga series, which was created by Yoshihiro Togashi. The anime series was produced by Madhouse and directed by Kazuhiro Furuhashi. Hunter X Hunter is definitely worth the watch. It consists of so many interesting main characters and if you consider all of their goals and subplots, the story just becomes even more unpredictable and is enough to hold the reader’s interest. Yes! In my opinion, the 1999 version is superior. It has a different atmosphere: the animation is less childish and much "darker" than the one from 2011. It's a lot of fun to watch the battles, especially the ones in the Phantom Troupe arc. Also, the soundtrack is much better. 48.
